Private move
Apartment and house moves including carrying support, furniture assembly and packing service on request.
Learn moreEssen is the largest city in our service area and the most varied of them all: dense old buildings in Rüttenscheid, villa districts in Bredeney, historic town centres in Werden and Kettwig. We plan the moving day by district.
D&E Umzüge operates throughout the entire city of Essen – from Rüttenscheid and Holsterhausen via Steele and Kray to Werden, Kettwig and Borbeck. We take on private and office moves, senior moves, furniture transport, storage as well as clearance and household clear-outs. After a free survey you receive a binding fixed-price quote.
You either book the complete move or individual parts of it – depending on what you want to take care of yourself.

Learn moreEssen stretches over twenty kilometres from north to south, and the built environment changes completely several times over on that stretch. The north is characterised by larger housing complexes, the centre by dense Gründerzeit-era old buildings with tight parking, and the south by detached houses on slopes and historic town centres. A uniform schedule does not work here.
In Rüttenscheid, Holsterhausen and Frohnhausen the old buildings stand shoulder to shoulder, residents' parking permits are the norm and free space in front of the building is rare. Without a no-parking zone a moving team spends a lot of time here carrying things back and forth. We apply for one by default.
Werden and Kettwig have grown centres with narrow streets, partly cobbled and with limited access. There we plan vehicle size and the approach route differently than in a new-build district – and check in advance whether a special permit is required.
From Karnap in the north to Kettwig in the south is around 20 kilometres right across the city. A move within Essen can therefore take longer than a move from Essen to Bochum. We factor this driving time into our planning realistically.
The volume of goods, the floor and lift situation, access and parking, the distance between the old and new address, and additional services such as packing, assembly, storage or a no-parking zone. We do not work with flat rates: after the free survey you receive a binding fixed price.
Yes, and in the densely built-up districts we explicitly recommend it. We handle the application with the city and put up the signs in good time. The permit needs lead time, so the date should be fixed well in advance.
Yes, throughout the entire city area. In the historic town centres we do clarify access in advance though – not every street there is suitable for a large vehicle.
In the old-building districts, yes. Many apartments are on the third or fourth floor with no lift. Whether it is worth it we decide during the survey – it often shortens the moving day considerably.
Yes. We move offices, practices and smaller businesses in coordinated time slots, at the weekend on request, so that operations are interrupted as little as possible.
Yes, regularly – to Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Herne, Witten and beyond. Such moves are generally completed in a single day.
From Bochum we work throughout the Ruhr area and in NRW.
