How much does a private relocation cost?
The price depends on floor area, floor level and lift access, the distance between addresses, and the additional services you book. D&E Umzüge issues a written fixed-price quote after a free survey. The amount is therefore settled before moving day and is not adjusted afterwards.
How long does a private relocation take?
A move from a two- or three-room flat usually takes one working day. Larger households from around 120 square metres, or moves over longer distances, are spread across two days: packing and loading on the first, transport and reassembly on the second.
How many moving boxes do I need?
As a rule of thumb, allow ten to twelve moving boxes per person in an average household. D&E Umzüge delivers the required quantity before moving day and collects any unused boxes afterwards. The exact number is confirmed during the survey.
Do I need a no-parking zone outside my building?
A no-parking zone makes sense whenever there is no reliable loading space outside the building. It noticeably shortens carrying distances and therefore the length of the move. D&E Umzüge applies for the permit with the responsible authority and puts up the signs on time, in Bochum and at the destination address alike.
Do I have to be present during the move?
You or an authorised person should be present at the start of the move and at the handover. Your presence is not required during transport. The team works from the agreed box labelling and your furniture plan for the new home.
What happens if something is damaged during the move?
German law sets a statutory liability for moving companies under the Commercial Code. Report any damage directly at the handover so that it is recorded in the handover protocol. For particularly valuable belongings, additional transport insurance can be arranged in advance.

Can I store furniture if the new home is not available yet?
