What is decluttering?
Decluttering is the emptying of a defined area while the flat or house continues to be lived in. Typical spaces are the cellar, attic, garage, storeroom or garden shed, in other words the places where years of things nobody uses any more have accumulated.
The difference from a household clearance lies in scale and occasion. A clearance gives up a home entirely and hands the property back. With decluttering everything stays as it is; space is simply created, usually because an area is needed again.

Are reusable items credited?
Yes. Furniture, appliances, tools and collectables with residual value are set aside and assessed. The credited amount is stated in the written quote and reduces the price of the job.
What happens to paints, chemicals and old appliances?
Hazardous waste such as paints, varnishes, chemicals and old appliances is recorded separately and disposed of through its own route. These materials do not belong in general waste. How the disposal routes work in detail is set out under disposal and clearance.
Do I have to be present during the clearance?
You or an authorised person should be there at the start and at the handover. Your presence is not needed while the work goes on, as long as it was agreed in advance what stays and what goes. The team will call about anything it finds.
Is the space cleaned afterwards?
The cleared space is swept and handed back broom-clean. A more thorough clean, for instance before reletting or repurposing, can be added through the cleaning service.
